Welcome to the ABTA Benevolent Fund
Important information: The ABTA Benevolent Fund is now known as ABTA LifeLine. Please visit www.abtalifeline.org.uk
This is the charity's new website. All up to date information on the charity, including an application form for help, can now be found at this address.
This is the website for ABTA's very own charity, more recently and better known as 'ABTA-BEN'. It was set up in 1988 with the sole aim of assisting those currently, or previously, in the travel industry who had fallen on hard times and found themselves to be in need of help.

For example, ABTA-BEN provides timely, practical and financial assistance to those colleagues who are unable to work through prolonged illness, accident, redundancy or forced retirement.
To date, we have helped more than 500 families and awarded grants and loans in excess of £500,000
So how does it all work? Anyone seeking help is asked for some basic information which will then enable the Charity's Trustees to see how best to provide a positive response. It could be an outright grant, or a loan repayable on acceptable terms.
Or it could be a matter of providing some free legal or financial advice and occasionally we have been able to suggest - with success - that Social Security support is a more appropriate source of help.
Any application is treated - of course - in total confidence.
